Indian fisher men are killed on a regular basis, citing the reason that they have trespassed into Srilankan territorial waters.
This is not a valid reason for killing people.
Fault also lies on Indian fishermen.
At the same time it is an economic problem of fishermen;of course this not justifiable.
What does Indian Coast Guard for, if it can not protect its people?
If the fault lies with fisher men they can be tried in India.
Now comes the protest of Srilankan fishermen(they also trespass into Indian waters;unlike SriLanka, they are brought to India and sent back)
I suspect the protest by Srilankan fishermen is stage managed bySrilankan authorities.
What does Kalaignar have to say on the issue?
He has time and energy to go to Delhi for begging cabinet berths for daughter and son.
He will wait to meet Sonia Gandhi for six hours to talk about Raja/2G Scam
He does not have the time for poor Tamils.
HAMBANTOTA: In an unprecedented show, Sri Lanka's northern Tamil fishermen protested outside the office of the Indian Consul General in Jaffna, asking the Indian government to prevent its fishermen from entering Sri Lankan waters. The protesters also demanded the release of four Sri Lankan fishermen, who have been held in Tamil Nadu.
The fishermen began to gather near the Consulate from 7.15 a.m. on Monday, according to one official. By around 10 a.m., about 275 fishermen from Mathagal had assembled, holding placards asking the Indian government to ‘stop encroachments,' ‘release Sri Lankan fishermen in Indian jails,' and decrying officials of the Indian Consulate in Jaffna for their role in the release of fishermen from Tamil Nadu last week.
