Nor could Shanti Bhushan answer the fact that the Taj corridor case against Mayawati was withdrawn as a quid pro quo.
Kiran Bedi,Kejriwal and now Shanti Bhushan of Anna Hazare team in corruption cases, not to forget the fact that Anna is yet to clear his name in the accusation that he was involved in a Bribe case amounting to Rs.Three lakhs, and that he had never conducted Election for the the post of President of the Society in which he has been the President for long!
In a chat with Karan Thapar‘s ‘Devil’s Advocate ,Agnivesh was elusive on the culpability of the Bhushans in the land Grab scam of the Bhushans.
He said Bhushans were prepared to surrender the land back and that their expertise was needed to draft the Lokpal Bill and people may chase them after the dead line of June 2011.
Whether smear campaign or not, Bhushans are unable to answer correctly excepting to state that this is a smear campaign and that they will surrender the land.

Shanti Bhushan, former law minister and a key member of Team Anna, was fined Rs27 lakh for allegedly evading a Rs1.34-crore stamp duty while buying a plot in Allahabad. He has been given a month to deposit the fine along with the stamp duty. The property was purchased in the name of Shanti Bhushan and his family members in November 2010 for Rs19.23 crore. Bhushan is the third member of Team Anna to have been involved in controversies after Kiran Bedi and Arvind Kejriwal. Earlier, Bhushan was involved in a controversy concerning a CD in which he was reportedly requesting a politician to intervene in a court case.
